Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM) – Private vs. Public Sectors

The Certified Enterprise Risk Manager (CERM) course is a globally recognized certification in enterprise risk management, trusted by professionals across various sectors.
Whether you work in the public or private sector, the CERM course equips you with strategic, practical, and governance focused tools to lead and practice enterprise risk management confidently in uncertain environments.

We offer two tailored versions of our certification.

Our original ERM certification, tailored for the private sector, was developed by cross-industry practitioners and educators in the private sector.

Our public sector ERM certification is tailored towards professionals in the public sector and developed in
collaboration with public sector practitioners, including the Danish tax authorities, as well as global educators with a focus on public sector enterprise risk management.

Modular Online vs Physical Course — Which Is Right for You?

We offer both online and in-person versions of the CERM course, each designed with distinct advantages to fit your schedule, learning style, and career goals. Both delivery methods provide you with the same course materials, and the certification process is identical.

However, each delivery method has its advantages and disadvantages as described below:

Physical In-Person Delivery | Immersive | Fixed Group | Networking Person Experience

Delivered quarterly over three consecutive days at the Copenhagen Opera House, this delivery method also offers you peer-to-peer learning, in-person brainstorming on case studies, and social events for networking, such as during a tour of the stunning Copenhagen Opera House.
If possible, we recommend attending in person to fully enjoy the benefits of face to-face classroom instruction in a distraction-free environment, allowing you to immerse yourself completely while brainstorming and networking with others.

Modular Online Delivery | Flexible | Live Online | Delivered Quarterly

Ideal for professionals seeking flexibility and wishing to learn at their own pace. To become certified, you need to complete all three full-day live modules. You can choose to either complete all days at once and become certified in 3 days.
Alternatively, you may pursue the certification at a slower pace, taking one module each quarter and joining new cohorts.
Finally, you also have the option to take individual online modules and receive a diploma of completion. For instance, you could join us for the first module – ERM Foundation – and apply our teachings of ERM fundamentals in the practical world before deciding whether to complete the ERM certification.

Benefits of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM):

Using ERM means deploying a holistic and systematic risk management approach, by utilizing a common risk framework across the organization.

Owning an effective ERM program is considered to be a cost-effective method of managing risks and therefore can help enterprises reap financial benefits.

Deploying a well-structured ERM system has also been proven to help with regulatory compliance, risk detection, reporting, prevention and mitigation.

Utilizing ERM translates into developing a risk-focused culture at the corporate level and helping stakeholders link their daily tasks to strategic goals.
